Tartalom : Az egész estés Metallica: Through the Never elegyíti a fiktív játékfilmet az élőben rögzített koncertfilmmel, az események középpontjában a világhírű rockbandával, a Metallicával. A film másik főszereplője a felemelkedőben lévő ifjú színész, Dane DeHaan ( Az erő krónikája, Fékezhetetlen), aki Tripet, a fiatal futárfiút alakítja. A történet szerint Trip sürgős küldetést kap egy tomboló közönséggel telített Metallica-koncert alatt. Az arénán kívül kell találkoznia egy futárral, aki egy titokzatos tárgyat ad át neki, amit el kell vinnie a dübörgő show-ra. Ám kocsijával balesetet szenved, nem sokkal később pedig dühös tüntetők és rohamrendőrök csatájában találja magát, ráadásul egy titokzatos maszkos lovas is a nyomában lohol. Kezdetét veszi egy szürreális, poszt-apokaliptikus utcai hajsza.
